Jacob's Ladder Community Development Corporation, a faith-based nonprofit in Memphis, TN, has targeted graffiti removal and cleanup in a neglected 12 block neighborhood called Belt Line.
This summer, they spruced up the Belt Line Enrichment Center for youth (photo above). To keep graffiti off a retaining wall surrounding the building, youth helped create and paint a "Youth on the Move" mural. After six weeks, the neighborhood has taken ownership and the mural remains graffiti free.
